Chemical Barriers

Stop the propagation of explosions in pipelines thanks to an inert agent

The chemical barriers work according to the same principle as explosion suppressors. Same type of bottles are triggered by the same sensors and monitored by the same control cabinet.

The key difference is that these cylinders, strategically placed in the pipes, are triggered at the same time as the suppressors of the protected equipment, thus before the explosion arrives.

The chemical barrier releases an inert agent (usually a powder) that will prevent the spread of flames and pressure effects.

It is an effective barrier against the spread of flame and pressure as an ultrafast shutoff valve can be. However, it can be easily used on big diameter pipes.

These devices are ATEX certified like all the explosion protection equipment we propose.
